I see now where Matt Inman got some of his rebelliousness, from his father, Clifford Vean Inman, who has a rap sheet at the Idaho State Judiciary with three separate cases of disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and reckless driving. His mother is a psychic, who does palm reading, angel communication, tarot, channeling, psychometry, aura readings, and mediumship. She says she comes from "a line of readers, mystics in Europe." I wonder if her family associated with the Blavatsky Nazi crowd. Most of the medium/psychic whackos did. She studied with a Tibetan Shaman in Nepal. Wow. A totally crazy woman. Matt Inman has crazy parents on both sides. No wonder he's crazy, too.

With 35 years of experience as a psychic advisor, Ann Inman is a remarkable intuitive. Her training includes palm reading, angel communication, channeling, psychometry, aura readings and mediumship. She is available for readings as well as teaching classes.

A letter from Ann

Within the earliest of my memories, those memories of childhood. In those shadows. I remember a restlessness, a yearning. Haunted by something I didn’t understand, pushed always. Knowing as a small child, the Wind knew my name. The mountains encircling the valley I was born in, called to me. Memories of a past life, still emerging, washing , washing clothes in a river. A firm sense of a protective spirit around me always. Thank you, you saved me many times, as well as laughed and cried with me as I wandered along the path of my life. This has persisted all of my life.

Being raised in an organized religion and realizing from an early age that I was asking all the “wrong questions” Sneaking to the library and checking out books on, out of body experiences, feeling guilty. The words “from the devil” creeping in so often. Becoming a Tarot reader as a teenager . This moved on to palmistry, psychometry, channeling and hands on healing (also ghost busting). Always searching, always dreaming, learning about as many traditions as I could possibly stuff into my head. Always thirsty, taking as many classes as I could. Reading as many books as I could. Searching.

Realizing as an adult that I came from a line of “readers, mystics ” in Europe. It all made sense. As I grew tremendous opportunites presented themselves. Being invited to Nepal, to study with a Tibetan Shaman. Studying with a Celtic Shaman. Sitting on top of Macchu Picchu the night of the eclipse of the moon and the harmonic convergence, with the Shaman of the mountain. Being blessed with the opportunity to attend a Sundance ceremony in eastern Montana. During this period I realized that I was no longer taking classes, I was teaching them.

For the past 5 years I’ve lead a drumming group in the Coeur d’Alene area and have relocated to the seattle area to be closer to family and a growing number of grandchildren. Please feel free to call for information or with questions.

Namaste,
Ann

And apparently, there were some ugly divorce proceedings between his parents, that caused the judge to "seal" the case from the public eye. Maybe Matt could tell us why. Because this whole thing with Charles really looks like an Oedipus thing to me. He's attacking his father.

Kind of strange that Bobby Ray Inman's sons are named "Thomas" and "William." And a William Inman was the owner of a steamship company called "The Inman Line," which was "one of the largest 19th century British passenger shipping companies on the North Atlantic," according to Wikipedia. And that Bobby Ray Inman was the director of Naval Intelligence. Maybe William Inman was Bobby Ray Inman's great great great grandfather, or something like that. Supposedly, Bobby Ray Inman's father owned a gas station, whatever that means.

And it's also strange that a Thomas Inman and William Inman were theosophical writers of great importance. Are any of these people related to Matt Inman? His mother is obviously of the theosophical bent. William and Thomas Inman can't be the "mystics" Ann refers to as being her ancestors, because her last name is her ex-husband's name. What is Ann's maiden name? Is the theosophy thing on both sides of Matt's family? That's an interesting question. There's lots of questions here that I'd like answered. I'll keep seeing what I can come up with.

Buddhism, Christianity And Phallicism

WORKS by specialists and scholars have to be treated with a certain respect, due to science. But such works as Payne Knight's On the Worship of Priapus, and the Ancient Faiths, etc., of Dr. [Thomas] Inman, were merely the precursory drops of the shower of phallicism that burst upon the reading public in the shape of General Forlong's Rivers of Life. Very soon lay writers followed the torrent, and Hargrave Jennings' charming volume, The Rosicrucians, was superseded by his Phallicism.

A modern learned writer, Thomas Inman, M.D., gives the following as an interpretation of the passage: 'Thou shalt bruise his head, and he shall bruise thy heel': 'Gloriam fascini congressio tollit et caput ejus humile facit, sed infligit injuriam moritura mentula, quum impregnationem efficit et uteri per novas menses tumorem profert.' This may explain the reason why the cube of the Phrygian Cap, in the ancient sculptures of the 'armed female', is worn in reverse, or at the back of the head, as shown in figs. 207 and 208, p. 283.

Then there's this other William Inman who was just convicted of murdering his wife. And his father's name is "William," too. Lots of freekin' William Inmans in the world. I wonder if there's any relation here to Matt Inman. I ask because according to Matt Inman's theory of life, any association between persons among whom one is allegedly guilty of some crime convicts the whole bunch. So if they ARE related, then Matt Inman is guilty of murder. He's obviously guilty of all his father's crimes of resisting arrest and reckless driving, and his mother's psychic insanity. Maybe we should just go off on a wild speculation like Ken at Popehat and Marc Randazza constantly do, and say the murderer William Inman and Matt Inman are related, without any evidence whatsoever. That would be fair according to the rules set out by Matt Inman and his Internet gang of thugs. Hell, I think I see a huge resemblance between this William Inman and other men from Matt Inman's family. And I don't know why I shouldn't make the same kind of unsubstantiated accusations that the neocons are always making, like that Saddam Hussein tried to purchase Nigerian yellowcake and had weapons of mass destruction. If it can work for them, and these similarly neocon bullshit Internet tech magazines like TechDirt, ArsTechnica, and Popehat, then why not for me?

Probably because I don't say it with complete, ignorant, dogmatic conviction like they do.

NBC -- Jury Finds Inman Builty of Estranged Wife's Murder wrote:
LOGAN, Ohio --

June 12, 2012

A southeastern Ohio man has been found guilty of kidnapping and strangling his estranged wife Tuesday.

A jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts for William Inman Jr. in Hocking County court Tuesday morning.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse, in connection with the March 2011 kidnapping and murder of 25-year-old Summer Inman.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours before returning with the verdict.

Inman could face the death penalty.

Some of Summer's friends and family said they were unsure of what to expect before the verdict was read.

"The defense said that a lot of it was circumstantial. I just thought that, how could there be a doubt that he was involved in Summer's death and responsible for it," said Jewel Cavinee, a friend of Summer's family.

"I really thought that it could go either way because you don't know what other people hear and you don't know if things that are obvious to you are not obvious to other people. So, I was really nervous," Drengler said.

Some community members said they feel the conviction is a step toward healing, especially for Summer's family.

"The verdict, I was relieved. I feel it's a piece of closure for Summer's family. They still have two trials to continue with, so hopefully those trials will have the same outcome as well," said Falisha Long, a Logan resident.

There were also mixed emotions about whether the younger Inman should be put to death.

"I have mixed feelings on that. I think the death penalty would be too easy for him. I would like to see him have a life term in prison with no parole and be in the general population myself," Long said.

"I think it's logical. I think it's useful. I used to think that it would be cold to say that, but when I think about, you know, do I want my tax dollars to go to keep him alive? For what purpose?" said Diana Drengler, Summer's aunt.

Mitigation, or the penalty phase of the trial, begins Thursday, when the defense will plead for the jury to save Inman's life.

The younger Inman's father, William A. Inman Sr.; and his mother, Sandra K. Inman, are also accused in her death.

During the younger Inman's trial, 191 pieces of evidence were presented, and 30 witnesses testified.

Authorities said Summer was abducted outside a Logan bank where she worked on March 22, 2011. They said she was forced into a car, strangled and dumped in an underground septic tank behind Faith Tabernacle church in nearby Athens County.

Her body was found on March 29, 2011. There was a zip tie around her neck and wrists, and her purse was still on her arm when her body was dumped, prosecutors said.

Witnesses said they heard screams and a Taser-like sound outside the bank on the night she was kidnapped.

Summer's mother also testified about her daughter's relationship with the younger Inman, saying she was scared of her estranged husband and that she had filed for divorce.

Eyewitnesses also described seeing what is presumed to be the Inmans' white Ford Crown Victoria outside the bank, and outside the church where Summer's body was found.

An FBI agent also testified that during conversations with authorities, the younger Inman said he thought Summer might have faked the kidnapping to get him in trouble.

The younger Inman and his parents are being tried separately. His trial is the first of the three.

The elder Inman is also charged with two counts of aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse. He has pleaded not guilty and may face the death penalty if convicted.

Sandra is charged with murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse. If convicted, she faces 15 years to life in prison.

Sandra's trial starts Monday, July 9. The elder Inman's trial begins Friday, Aug. 24.

Dear Ann:

Your son is conducting a public lynching of our entire famly on the Internet. He appears to be extremely psychologically disturbed. Doesn't it worry you that he draws the pictures he draws? Do you ever think he might go out and murder someone with such callous attitudes towards human life?

I mean, Matt Inman seems like a Jared Loughner in the making. He's obviously mentally ill. His cartoons prove it.

The Daily Beast wrote:
Jared Lee Loughner's Mental State

Jan 10, 2011 9:00 AM EST

Cut off from the world by his iPhone earbuds and hoodie, neighbors and classmates say alleged murderer Jared Lee Loughner was a deeply disturbed young man who’d been wandering the neighborhood with an especially strange look in his eyes in recent days.

Randy Loughner leaned against his car, sobbing, as police swarmed his suburban Tucson home, searching for clues as to why his 22-year-old son, Jared, might have opened fire outside a nearby supermarket where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was meeting with her constituents. “Another neighbor went over to comfort him and came back and told us it was his son that shot [Giffords],” says Aaron Martinez, 18, who lives across the street from the boxy white house with the cactus garden and large tree that hid from view the troubled world of Jared Lee Loughner.

What transpired inside the house and mind of the young man who investigators say shot the congresswoman and 18 other people, leaving six dead, is the topic of much speculation. Many have questioned whether Jared Loughner’s apparent choice of target—a Democratic congresswoman who has been an outspoken opponent of Arizona’s tough immigration laws—was the result of an increasingly vitriolic national political climate where the threat of violence simmers just beneath the surface. Or were Loughner’s antigovernment Internet rants about the gold standard, grammar and mind control the ravings of a young man suffering from several mental illness?

It’s a question that likely won’t be fully answered for months, or even years, as the case against Loughner unfolds. “We have past incidents where other various local agencies have had concerns about his mental health. Does that mean he’s insane? I don’t know,” Captain Chris Nanos of the Pima County sheriff’s office tells The Daily Beast/Newsweek. Loughner is set to be arraigned today [Monday] at 3 p.m. in Phoenix on five federal counts, including the attempted assassination of Rep. Giffords, who remains in critical condition.

Whatever his motive, Jared Loughner was, by all accounts, an antisocial character whom most found odd and off-putting. Wearing a hoodie even in the scorching Tucson summer, and sealing the world out with his iPod earbuds, Jared would walk the family dog around the neighborhood, oblivious to those who tried to greet him. “I’ve said ‘hi’ multiple times, but he’s ignored me and continued with whatever he’s doing,” says Anthony Woods, a 19-year-old airplane mechanic who’s lived next door to the Loughners for seven years. “He seems very depressed, he was hunched over at all times.” (By contrast, neighbors say Jared’s mother is very friendly and outgoing, although his father, Woods says, is “very aggressive, very angry all the time about petty things—like if the trash is out because the trash guys didn’t pick it up, he yells at us for it.” The Loughners couldn’t be reached for comment). In recent weeks, Jared seemed to grow even more antisocial. “I’d try to engage him in a conversation and he’d run or walk away” says Jason Johnson, 33, who lives across the street and met Jared for the first time a few weeks ago. “I saw him two days ago and I said hello. He turned and walked back into the house. He had a look in his eyes like something wasn’t right,” Johnson says. “You know how it is when you talk to someone who’s mentally ill and they’re just not there? It was like he was in his own world.”

Loughner’s world was indeed a strange and unsettling place. “He was very disconnected from reality and from our class,” says Lydian Ali, a classmate of his in a poetry writing class at Pima Community College. “I remember him being incoherent when he contributed to class discussions. He would make a comment about someone's poem and none of us would know what he was talking about.” Another student, Amy Jensen, wrote on her website Saturday that she dropped out of a class at Pima in part because of Loughner’s bizarre behavior. “He was creepy. He would laugh to himself nearly all the time, even about things that weren’t funny,” Jensen wrote. “I sat behind him in that class and dropped it partially because of him. He was the kind of guy I pictured bringing a gun to class and shooting everyone.” Pima Community College suspended Loughner in September after administrators grew disturbed over one of his Internet posts, and told his parents he would need a mental health clearance if he wanted to return. Instead, Loughner dropped out the following month.

A search of Loughner's home turned up disturbing evidence of an obsession with Rep. Gabrille Giffords. Among other items, officials discovered an envelope with the words "I planned ahead," "Giffords," and "My assassination" stored in a safe.

While many details about Loughner are still unconfirmed, some unsettling YouTube videos filmed just weeks ago have been attributed to him. One video consists of a mix between delusional rants and harrowing warnings. After explaining his opposition to what he calls “treasonous laws,” he goes on to write, “In conclusion, reading the second United States Constitution, I can’t trust the current government because of the ramifications: The government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar.” He continues “No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver! No! I won’t trust in God!”

Loughner’s rambling Internet missives, says Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, likely come from well known online sources of the radical right. Potok, who studies hate groups and hate speech, has combed Loughner’s sites and says his material on grammar, in particular, likely comes from the writings of the Milwaukee-based, far right activist David Wynn Miller. As Potok explains it, Miller “believes in a ‘truth language’ that can throw off the government. If you use the right combination of colons and hyphens you don’t have to pay taxes. Miller is virtually the only person who pushes these ideas on grammar, it’s a very unusual idea, even on the radical right.”

For his part, Miller tells The Daily Beast/Newsweek that Loughner has never reached out to him, but that “I expect he’s been on my website… He’s just repeating things I’ve had up on my site the past 11 years.” Miller—who claims “the Feds monitor me 24/7” but haven’t contacted him about Loughner—says he suspects that Loughner could be a victim of an Air Force program on mind control (“he’s old enough to be in the program”—as were, he says, the Columbine shooters) but that he has likely been more influenced by television crime shows than anything else. “Murder is taught every day, one hundred times a week on crime shows,” Miller says. “They’ve been brainwashing this child for twenty years. It’s a wonder everyone isn’t walking around insane.”

In examining Loughner’s list of favorite books, which includes Orwell and Mein Kampf, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Potok notes that an anti-government thread runs through all those works. In addition, Loughner’s obsession with currency not being backed by gold and silver “is a core idea of the militia, or Patriot, movement.” Loughner at one point writes, “My favorite activity is conscience dreaming” and Potok thinks he might mean “conscious dreaming,” an idea particularly perpetrated by a British writer David Icke. “The link to Icke, who is an extremist, might be weak, but the basic idea of conscious dreaming is impossible to understand but boils down to: what we think is reality really isn’t. We live in a holographic universe,” Potok says. If that is a philosophy Loughner had adopted, that might in some ways explain books like “Alice in Wonderland” and other alternate reality books on his favorite book list. “Most likely he is a mentally ill man who heard a lot of vitriolic rhetoric and started to absorb some of it,” says Potok.

Was it that toxic cocktail—mental illness, mixed with angry political rhetoric—that could have pushed the Tucson gunman over the edge into violent madness? "Based on the information I've been presented and the whole constellation of his angry rantings and the paranoia that pervades his writings, it sounds to me like he has a paranoid ideation or paranoid delusions,” says Matt Heinz, 33, a physician and Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives, who is a friend of Rep. Gifford’s. “People who have paranoid delusions respond differently to things like the vitriol that's been going around the political climate of this state. Instead of saying, 'I'm opposed to your position on healthcare,' it's 'You should die.'”

How to use a semicolon
The most feared punctuation on earth

"Using a semicolon isn't hard; I once saw a party gorilla do it."

Why

What's the point of a semicolon?

The most common way to use a semicolon is to connect two independent clauses. For example:

"The ice cream truck man drove by my house today. He had big hairy knuckles."

The two statements are separated by a period. If read aloud, it would go something like this:

"The ice cream truck man drove by my house today. *take a breath* He had big hairy knuckles."

With a semicolon, however, it would sound like this:

"The ice cream truck man drove by my house today; he had big hairy knuckles."

Bascially what we did was eliminate the pause between the two statements without using words such as and, but, nor, or yet.

How

How do I use a semicolon?

If you have two independent clauses, meaning they could stand alone as their own sentences, it's ok to use a semicolon. For example:

"My aunt also had hairy knuckles; she loved to wash and comb them."

This is an independent clause, meaning it could stand alone as a complete sentence.

This is also an independent clause, it could exist without being attached to its predecessor.

Don't

Don't use it with conjunctions.

Conjunctions are words like and, but, or, nor, for, so and yet.

"My aunt's hairy knuckles are magnificent indeed, but I have no desire to stroke them."

A comma is used because there's a but separating the two clauses.

When

When should I use a semicolon?

"I gnaw on old car tires; it strengthens my jaw so I'll be better conditioned for bear combat."

Use a semicolon when you want to form a bond between two statements, typically when they are related to or contrast with one another. In the example above, the relationship between gnawing on tires and combatting bears is strengthened by using a semicolon.

"I fought the bear and won. Also, I never kiss plague rats on the mouth."

In this sentence, your victory against the bear does not need to be connected to the plague rat, so a period is used.

Pause

Both bears and semicolons have pause.

Comma (brief pause)

Semicolon (moderate pause)

Period (complete stop)

Internal

Use a semicolon to connect sentences that contain internal punctuation.

[Dinosaur 1] I've got all these commas! How can we ever be together without forming a run-on sentence?

[Dinosaur 2] NOthing can stop true love. Use a semicolon, you fool!

"When dinosaurs agree on something, they'll often high five one another; dinosaurs are all about high fives."

If you'd used a comma in this sentence it would have resulted in a comma splice. If you'd used a period you'd lose the connection between the two clauses.

Super

Use a semicolon as a super-comma.

"While searching for a good place to get a unicorn burger, I traveled to Seattle, Washington; Tokyo, Japan; and London, England.

Use a semicolon if you need to make a list of items that are separated with a comma. This often occurs when listing locations, names, dates, and descriptions.

The most enchanting meat on earth comes from the thighs of a unicorn.

[Fat Man] Mayonnaise made me the man I am today!

"My favorite people include Samuel Slaughterjaws, a famous unicorn hunter; my uncle Wilford, a world champion at mayonnaise eating contests; and Nikola Tesla, the most awesome dude to ever fire a lightning bolt at an angry peasant."

The semicolon enables you to list and describe all three characters in the same sentence.

The end.

"Godzilla is a misunderstood creature; beneath his raging desire to set people on fire and eat them lies a gentle giant who just wants to cuddle."

Dear Mark Potok:

I read your comments about Jared Loughner's rambling internet missives in "The Daily Beast" with interest. You hypothesized that they were connected with the writings of far right activist David Wynn Miller, who has a strange obsession with colons and hyphens. My entire family is being brutally lyinched by a gang of Internet thugs being led by Matt Inman, who is a sadistic internet cartoonist who strangely has a similarly weird obsession with grammar. Can you please give me an opinion of whether the ideas expressed on this page at Matt Inman's site "The Oatmeal" are connected with this David Wynn Miller? http://theoatmeal.com/comics/semicolon I am extremely concerned that Matt Inman is a mentally disturbed person who might be capable of murder in the future. I would really appreciate your advice in this matter.

P.S. Why wait until after the murder is accomplished to do something about these obviously disturbed kids?
