This photo was taken at Long Beach Airport the same year that her fifth
album, janet., leapt to the top of the charts, as did the single
and video for "That's the Way Love Goes." Jackson's image was
becoming more overtly sexual: That fall she would appear bare-breasted
on a Rolling Stone cover.
